Regular Classes
Ballet Combo: Pre-School Ballet class for
4 & 5 year olds that focuses on imaginative and creative movement, as well as a
general introduction to ballet, jazz and musical theatre fundamentals. A wonderful
program to introduce children to dance and music.
Tap: Pre-School (age 4 and 5 years)
Junior to Advanced ADAPT

Dress Regulations for Ballet Classes
Demi-Pointe / Pointe: For students in Grade
4 and up who are not taking Vocational Classes but would like to try pointe. Students
will begin by taking the class on demi-pointe and will be allowed to go on pointe
when the teacher deems the student ready.
Hip Hop / Jazz: This class is for dance beginners
and students who have had limited formal dance training. This class is for students
10 years and up.
Rhythm Tap: This is a non-syllabus tap class
concentrating on rhythms and combinations incorporating every style of tap. This
class is for dancers age 10 and over with minimal dance experience or older tap
beginners.
Stretch 'n Tumble: This acrobatic class is
for children age 6-9 who have had limited dance or acro experience. Students will
be introduced to acrobatics by an experienced coach. Fundamental dance movements
will also be taught but on a limited basis.
Jazz Technique: For students in Junior 3
Jazz level to Intermediate 2 (ADAPT) Jazz level. This class will only be offered
for 8 weeks and will be completed before ADAPT exams in early December. This class
will be mandatory for these Jazz students who are working towards their ADAPT exam.
Specialty Classes
Musical Theatre: We will be working on different
jazz styles with a focus on improving performance ability and acting through Musical
Theatre. This class is offered to students starting at the age of 6, and as high
as a Pre-Int. 3 Jazz Level. Levels and classes will be determined by the teachers
during registration.
Lyrical: Classes will offer and explore different
styles of Lyrical. The teachers will concentrate on perfecting and strengthening
technique and performance ability. An emphasis will be placed on musical interpretation
and emotion. There will be three levels offered: see our policy handbook for more
information.
Stretch & Progression: (including turns, jumps
and tricks)
This class is sure to inspire all dancers to drastically increase their flexibility
and strength. We will also be challenging the dancers with turns and combinations
of jumps.
There will be two levels of Stretch and Progressions as well as one class available
with acrobatics.
Contemporary: This class will focus on different
styles and techniques in Jazz with an emphasis on Open and Modern. We will be introducing
the dancers to many new forms of Jazz and creative new ideas, all to enhance their
overall dance experience. This program will feature many guest teachers throughout
the year. This class is only available to Intermediate 2 to Advanced (Adapt) level
Jazz students.
Partnering / Lift Class: The emphasis will
be on instruction and performance experience in partnering and is sure to motivate
and inspire us to reach new heights. Dancers, who will be eligible to attend these
classes, will be invited by the Danscott teaching staff.

this year!
Parent 'n Tot: 8 week program for 1.5-2.5
years of age featuring activities and games to enhance your child's coordination,
as well as introducing them to movement and music.
Creative Movement: 8 week program for 3-4
year olds, a wonderful introduction to dance and music.
